10 Things I’ve Learned From My Kids

Today’s writing prompt is the ten things I’ve learned form my kids. To be honest, I wavered on what exactly to share for this. I mean I didn’t want to sound too corny and cliche, but I wanted to be honest. Of course there are also the lessons your kids teach you that you do not want to share in public, like don’t let the preschooler see you getting dressed when you know he’s going to announce what color underwear you have on in the middle of the store later. So, moving right along, here is what I was finally able to come up with, take them with a grain of salt.

  1. Some days it’s perfectly acceptable to have ice cream for breakfast or pancakes for dinner.
  2. if it don’t taste good, don’t eat it. There’s no point suffering now to avoid suffering later.
  3. You gotta climb trees if you want to get the best view.
  4. Frogs really don’t like hugs.
  5. You don’t need expensive gadgets or fancy toys to have fun. All you really need is a small shovel and patch of dirt.
  6. Watch what you say, there’s always someone listening.
  7. Moms are superheros too.
  8. Hugs and kisses can make any pain go away. Even if just for a little while.
  9. Time goes by a lot faster than you think. Hurry up and slow now before you miss it all.
  10. Bubble baths cleanse the body and the soul.

#6 and #7 are so true!

My little boy remembers EVERYTHING! He may not know exactly what things mean, but he sure likes to repeat things and see what kind of reaction he gets!

I agree with Erin… where can I get my cape? Maybe then people would take me seriously!

Thanks for commenting on my blog!
