38 Weeks And Ready

I can’t believe I’m already 38 weeks along. I honestly didn’t think I would make it past 36 weeks the way I kept having contractions and felt so tired, but here I am. The full moon is this Thursday and babies tend to come like the tide when the moon is full. I am so ready too. I’m huge and uncomfortable and can barely walk. My body is screaming that it’s time for this baby to be born.

I’m ready to start wearing normal clothes again. I’m dreaming of waistlines and zippers and real shoes that actually fit my feet. That’s going to be one of the first things I get myself after this baby is born, a cute pair of women’s shoes that actually fit me. Since Evan just got a new pair of T-Ball shoes I think I deserve at least a nice pair of flats to wear. As of now all I have are my huge slip-ons that are stretched beyond repair. They’ll be falling off my feet with every step after the baby is born.

Hello? Did you see my ankles?

I’m also ready for the pregnancy brain fog to lift. I have so much to do and I can’t focus enough to do any of it. OK, so chances are my brain won’t work so well after the baby is born either, but it’s gotta be a slight improvement. If I can at least get focused enough to write again I’ll be happy. Well, and if I can find time to write too.

I am just so ready to have this baby. Or more accurately I am so ready to not be pregnant anymore. This will be over soon, right?

Yep. It’ll be over soon. No OB will let you go past 42 weeks.

So, MAX, you’ve got another month.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, huh?
