Well lets see, what did we do today?
Made banana pancakes for breakfast. E sat on the counter and helped pour the ingrediants and stirred after I added the mashed banana. He loves getting to help. After that we just kind of lazed around. We didn’t try any formal circle time this morning as it was a cold, rainy, no good kind of morning. Instead we cuddled on the couch, colored a bit, drove cars, and had a whiney/crying hour or so. We munch reheated pizza for lunch, oh I’m so healthy, and watched a bit of Animal Planet and the tribute to Steve Irwin. Then a nap for all of us, except Dearest who got kicked out of bed and thus took over the couch to watch TV. For dinner Dearest made baked chicken and cheesy pasta that we devoured with glee. I rarely eat meat but when I do I make it worth it.
Then we ended our day with the highlight of the evening, the county fair opened tonight. E was so excited walking up and seeing all the bright colored lights flashing on the rides. He stood in awe then exclaimed “Look! We’re going to Christmas!” I was able to withhold my need to spend money, with help from Dearest holding the cash, and thus did not buy every fattening greasy thing I could smell nor play every game until I was hording all of the prizes. Instead we looked at the animals in the FFA buildings, walked around, was entertained by a couple clowns, and enjoyed some live music. A even slept the entire time in his daddy’s arms. So sweet.
Luckily the fair is here until Sunday so I hope to be able to take the boys back and ride a few things. Maybe spend some more time with the animals as E adores animals of all kinds.
