A Day In Our Homeschooling Life

I’m a little late today with the Not Back to School Hop, but I’ll make up for it with some great photos. This week we’re sharing a day in the life of our homeschooling family. I know that some people think the day is just sitting around the kitchen table or in office furniture reciting bible verses and drilling spelling words. But that’s far from true of this family. Our day looks a little more exciting.

We start the morning with love. Because seriously, how could you not?

There’s always some thing going on for the boys to learn about. Like a soda bottle worm farm. Worms and recycling, who could ask for anything more?

But now, we don’t just stay home all the time. Despite the name homeschoolers aren’t confined to their homes. We like to get out and explore the world around us as often as possible. Especially the duck pond at the big park.

And since it’s still hot here we have to get a little wet to cool off.

Back home we relax with a little arts and crafts time. Cutting and glueing always calms down frazzled boys.

You know, you can’t just make a paper volcano. You have to go outside and watch one erupt. The perfect end to another homeschooling day.

(Youtube video coming, as soon as it loads correctly)

So there’s out day. Mostly. Sure there breaks for meals and stories and a cartoon along the way, but those weren’t as exciting.

  1. We don’t move too quickly with our day. Morning? Cartoons and video games, thanks. Schooling? Time for it in the afternoon, when it’s too hot to go outside!

Looks like a fun, relaxing, restful, yet full day to me.

    Summer,
Thanks for commenting on my blog awhile back. I have been homeschooling 2 weeks now and we are having a blast. It is a wonderful, great, and open world. It looks like ya’ll are having fun too. This week we are experiencing rocks and gemstones. Fun! Fun! Anyway, thanks for the visit, and this post.
