About Me

SummerWhat’s there to say?

I’m never any good at writing these “about me” things. The line between too much information and not enough is a delicate one to walk and I’m afraid of falling off. Still here goes a little bit about who I am.

My name is Summer, I’m a stay at home mom of two very loud boys, I’m planning to homeschool them, and I’m definitely pretty darn weird. I’m “crunchy” as in one of those new-age hippie parents. Cloth diapers, extended breastfeeding, homebirth are just a few of the things I consider normal. I’m an eclectic mixture of stereotypes. Some of my labels include feminist, liberal, Pagan, crafty. I don’t eat meat, I listen to political punk, and I live in the middle of the Bible Belt. And sometimes, when the winds of change blow just right, my hair turns purple.

I’m a trained doula, worked as a breastfeeding councelor for WIC, and am trying to make and sell jewelry.

As if I’m not busy enough I also keep a homeschooling blog at http://momisteaching.com and a craft blog at http://creativemomcafe.com
