I said that every month I was going to do a quick post and share the thing that people were searching for when they came across my blog. I thought it would be fun to see what people were looking for each month. I already did one for January, so here’s a look back at February.
The most popular searches people were doing that had them showing up on my doorstep in February were:
- vision board - Hey, that was my #2 keyword from January. I updated my original vision in the middle of February. Not that I’m an expert or anything, I’m just trying things that work for me.
- banana smoothies - There’s actually about 4 different variation on this search, all of them leading back to when I shared the recipe for peanut butter banana smoothies. The post was actually in January, but for whatever reason it was loved more in February.
- spending money on clothes - I did one little post about spending money and yet this has brought in a huge amount of traffic on this search phrase. It’s even weirder because I don’t see my blog come up anywhere when I do the search. Who knows, maybe analytics is off.
OK, so those are the most popular ones. But we all know it’s the weird search terms that are the most fun to share. So here’s a taste of the crazy that finds my poor blog.
- a lady breastfeed to cat - Ummm, seriously? Who would search for this kind of thing? And how the hell did they land on my site?
- is it ok to change cat litter while breast feeding - You might want to put the baby down first, preferably away from the liter box.
- i don’t know what to get for my birthday - I don’t know either, sorry.
And lastly, I like to share the most popular posts each month. See which ones had the most people pointing and laughing. Sure, you say you’re laughing with me…
- Learning To Write - Everyone seemed to love when I shared the story of Evan learning to write on his own. He’s still doing it every chance he gets.
- Breastfeeding: It’s Not A Crime - I wasn’t the only one pissed when a woman was kicked out of a museum for breastfeeding.
- Valentine’s Jewelry For You - Give away some sparkly stuff and the people come running.
- Giving Birth is Big Business - This was a post from January, but it did really well in February for some reason.
So that was the best of February in a nutshell. I wonder what march will bring in.
