diet - sanja gjeneroI’ve got more than just a little around my middle. I’m a bit like Santa Claus. You know, shakes like a bowl full of jelly. Even though my weight is still techniquelly in the OK range, it’s all sitting right in my waiste and hips making me look bigger than I am. You should never describe a woman’s body as a fruit, so I’ll use a vegetable and say I’m eggplant shaped. Not sexy.

I’ve probably tried a hundred times to lose the belly. I’m just not motivated enough to exercise alone and it’s hard to eat better when Dearest, the beanpole, brings home every package of junk food he sees. Oh sure, he can eat a brownie and a bag chips for breakfast then wash it down with a can of soda and not gain a pound. I get bigger just watching him. I even get bigger trying to get in shape. This week I’ve done crunches every day to try to thin my stomach but instead I actually gained another 5 lbs.

Since I don’t want to resort to things like ephedra diet pills and I can’t afford liposuction I need to just suck it up and put in a real effort. More exercise and more willpower and more motivation.

I hear ya, girl. Mine’s been acting up lately and getting all independent on my ass. Like, oh yeah? You think you can get rid of ME?? Try again sistah! Here I come, about to roll over your waistband! HI-YAH!

If you’re a crunches kind of girl, might I recommend Pilates? The first couple of weeks were a bit of a learning curve, but I’m seeing some great results. Also, using the toning balls gets a little… addictive. Dare I say they’re kind of fun?

It’s different for everyone, of course, but I’m a true believer now!

VDog: Mine must have been communicating with your’s. We’ll have to try some wiretapping and covert missions. ;)

Maven: You know, I actually tried pilates a few years ago but never could get into it. I might have to give it a second chance. I’m not really a crunches kind of girl, more of a sit on my butt eating donuts and complaining kind of girl. But I’m willing to try anything.

I used to be able to eat anything and never gain an ounce. Now, I can look at a photo of cheesecake and pack on five pounds. It’s hard work when your body rebels against you.

SPEAK UP!
