I’m building up some karma writing about good causes. First Orangutans and now Car Angel.
Car Angel is a non-profit company that takes in used cars for donations. Think of the clunker you might have sitting in your garage. It’s not as worthless as you might believe. They use the donated cars to fund their making videos for kids that they give away for free. As of right now they have given away over 2.4 million videos. And all of them paid for by people willing to donate cars.
You can see their videos on YouTube at http://youtube.com/user/boatangel Yes, the videos are cheesy and overly religious and not my cup of tea, but I know that there are some people who would love this. So I’m sharing it.
See, I’m a giver.

I love organizations like this. I don’t have a clunker, but if I did I would donate it. We ended up giving our old car to a friend. After a full year, it started up on the first try and she drove it home (an hour away). Not such a clunker after all!
Hope you’re well

This is an interesting concept, I wonder how much money they manage to salvage from one car….
I certainly don’t have any lying around to donate, maybe in a few years
