I’m going to share a little secret today. I’ve totally got a crush on this guy
Who is he? Well Tim McIlrath of course. Just the lead singer of my favorite band ever, Rise Against. Vegetarian, liberal, anti-war, and all around hottie. OK, I’m shallow. So sue me.
When he sings softly on Anywhere But Here I’m read to pack my bags and escape, right after I stop swooning that it. When he screams passionately in Give It All I start bouncing around and looking for some trouble to get into. Then when he sings Swing Life Away I curl up in Dearest’s arms and sigh.
We live on front porches and swing life away,
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I’ll slave till the end,
I won’t cross these streets until you hold my hand
But, I have one reason outside of his politics and vocal skills that makes me giggle like a school girl. This is Tim.
And this, in a never before seen on this blog presentation, is my Dearest.
Notice the hottie factor? Once again swoon.

No, the little guy isn’t ours. Much to the boy’s dismay. He actually belongs about a block from us, but the owners let him run loose all day. He’s always coming down to play with the boys and following us on walks. No collar, no tags, and, uh, not fixed. The dog is almost always around, I bet if we had a little shade area or some patio furniture for him to sleep under he might now ever leave. He’s adorable, loves the boys, and is so sweet. Evan nearly squeals over that curled tail, he calls is a “little piggy tail”.
Anyone know what breed it is? It’s about the size of a Chihuahua, but I’ve never met one so loving or with that cute tail. And is it supposed to be that skinny? He ate all the out door cat food and two handfuls of snacks, but then most dogs eat first and think later anyway.

A few weeks ago I became a stalker fan of Sweetney. It’s one of those blogs that I had to remove some older blogs to make room for. And I’m glad I did. I gave into temptation and added my face to her Self-Portrait Truthiness Flickr pool. That’s right, there I am in brutal honesty. No using angles and shadows to look good, it’s just pure me. Be afraid, very afraid.
Why on earth would anyone share their funky fresh side? Because Sweetney said to, duh! Or in her words
This is pretty much who I am. Internet, meet my everyday reality, in all its haggard ingloriousness.
So have you added your face yet? No make up, no special lighting, not even a little touch up on photoshop.
