Chuck Norris Thinks The Virgin Mary Was A Stupid Slut

Merry Christmas! Aren’t you glad Jesus wasn’t aborted?
That’s the argument from Chuck Norris against healthcare in the US. That if the Virgin Mary had been given the choice, she would have aborted Jesus as soon as possible. So we have to not fund abortion now, cause the next clump of cells aborted could be the messiah. No really.
as we near the eve of another Christmas, I wonder: What would have happened if Mother Mary had been covered by Obamacare? What if that young, poor and uninsured teenage woman had been provided the federal funds (via Obamacare) and facilities (via Planned Parenthood, etc.) to avoid the ridicule, ostracizing, persecution and possible stoning because of her out-of-wedlock pregnancy? Imagine all the great souls who could have been erased from history and the influence of mankind if their parents had been as progressive as Washington’s wise men and women! Will Obamacare morph into Herodcare for the unborn?
Now, I’m not exactly up on my Christian mythology, but didn’t an angel come to Mary and tell her all about it right before it happened? So he’s saying the Blessed Virgin would have willingly aborted the son of god. She would have known exactly who she was caring, and that god was going to protect her for it, and done it anyway.
Does Norris have mommy issues? I mean, does he feel like his mom never wanted him so he projects this out on all mothers?
Really, I’ve heard this argument before. If so-and-so’s famous mother had been given a choice she would have aborted, so we need to stop abortion now. That always makes me scratch my head. You think pregnancy and motherhood are so horrible that if given a chance every woman would choose to have an abortion, and because of this we need to force every woman into pregnancy and motherhood. Not only does this ignore the fact that most women have a choice today and yet the population is doing fine (or do they think most men are arm-twisting women in private), but also it pushes the image of pregnancy as a punishment.
Though in the Virgin Mary’s case I’m not sure what her punishment was for? Being a woman?

Wow. I suppose the argument could be turned around on him, though it brings choice down to the same [stupid and horrifying] level. What if the mothers of Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden, Adolf Hitler, Jack the Ripper, Charles Manson, etc… HAD aborted them? How many innocent people would still be alive now if those monsters had never been born?
It’s still a terrible argument. Every child has potential when they are born. It’s often the ones who aren’t wanted, aren’t loved, and are generally resented for “ruining” their parents’ lives that turn out badly.
My view is that all children should be wanted and loved. To that end, society has a long way to go before that goal can be met, and until we can wise up and educate our young people properly about reproduction, abortion needs to remain a safe, legal, and rare option.
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Yup, abortion is so attractive that IF we can, we WILL. All of us. Right. I’m pro-choice but I can see straight through that argument, because I CHOSE not to abort my son when I was that young, unwed mother on Medicaid!

I’m with Christina – that argument is very easily turned around.
I am Canadian. We have free health care and free access to abortion. Based on my quick research, in 2005 Canada had 14.1 abortions / 1000 women aged 15-44 and the use had 19.4 abortions / 1000 women aged 15-44. Sure, there could be differences in the way data is collected, but on the surface it seems that free access to abortion does not cause an increase in the number of abortions that occur. Perhaps the opposite, because free health care also means better access to doctors and contraceptives.
Boo, Chuck Norris!

I absolutely think free health care would lower the abortion rates. Women would be healthier = less need for abortions due to health issues. Less fear of being unable to afford pregnancy/a child = less need for abortions. But then, logic doesn’t work for guys like him.
Studies KEEP showing that free access to health care DOES lower abortion rates! Whose collars do I grab and shake, because someone still. does. not. get. it.
FYI: the title of this post made my husband laugh out loud!

I love the part where “the Democrats in Congress drove a sword through the womb of the unborn.” Well-said, Chuck. Although if I were Mr. Norris, I would have said that “the Democrats in Congress performed a roundhouse kick to the womb of the unborn.”
Nice picture. Chuck Norris is really stupid to say that…
