Have You Cried Yet Today?

Christine shared this link on her blog and after I stopped crying I knew I had to share it too.

Think About It:

According to UNICEF, 25,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they “die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death.”

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You’ve probably heard all the numbers before about children in poverty and death, and probably even seen the commercials for (questionable) companies asking you to sponsor children. It’s easy to become immune to it, to see cold hard numbers and turn away. OK, so how about something more substantial?

Sick kids

Go on, go get a kleenex then hug your kids. I’ll wait. Back? That’s a real picture, taken Thursday at the Rescue Center in Haiti. So what can you do? For one you can donate anything extra you have to Real Hope For Haiti, and know that these kids you see above are actually going to be getting the help they need. Them and many others. If you don’t have cash to send they always need more supplies, things like crib sheets, clothes, toys, shampoo. You can see a complete needs list here.

What if that were your baby? What would you want someone to give?

Thank you for that picture. It’s horrendous to see but maybe it will get more people to do something about it.

Thanks for posting this. I just shared it on Facebook and I am going to start gathering some stuff up to send to them. It makes me really thankful that I live such a good life and very sad that not everyone can live such a life. Lots of food for thought.
