It’s Not Back To SChool Photo Day

This week we’re all showing our Not Back To School photos. I was going to send Evan outside in his jammies with his backpack to try a silly take on the traditional back to school photo. But then yesterday we took a spontaneous trip to the History of Natural Life museum and the Arbuckle Wilderness. As I was flipping through the pictures I took I thought these would be fun back to school pictures. After all, how many kids get to go back to learning while standing under a Wooly Mammoth?

Or staring down a Pentaceratops?

Or eating cheese flavored crickets (yes, real crickets)?

Sure the kids on the bus may seem pretty wild, but can any of them compare to getting up close and personal with a camel?

The school bully may try to steal your lunch money, this guy stuck his head in the window and tried to steal Evan’s food. Do not roll down your window to feed the Ostriches, no matter how much your kid begs.

Even the coolest kids won’t have the stylish looks of a Zebra.

Don’t touch the Llama.

But do touch the donkey. And feed him. Please. Or he’ll give you the saddest eyes that could rival any puppy.

So that’s how we do Not Back To School photos around here. I think it’s going to be a fun year!

Did you do both in one day?! That’s a lot of driving. I love both places. I was engaged at Arbuckle. :)

  2. That’s so cool! It looks like an action-packed day and, yup, that donkey sure gives the puppy eyes! It’s almost… cute.

The children here start school on August 31. I’d like to stand on my balcony with my son, while we wave at them yelling, “Don’t forget to write!”

Only, we’re never up that early. ;)

    Yeah, I think so too.

That single day is cooler than *any* day I had in school. All 12 years. :)
