I cannot believe that tomorrow it will be 2010. Who the hell pushed the fast forward button on the year?

The worst thing about it being New Year’s Eve is that my birthday is in 3 days (have you donated yet). I am so not ready for another year of life. There are so many things I felt like I didn’t get done this year, I’m starting the new year off in a deficit. At this point I might never catch up.

So instead of resolutions that I’ll never keep, I’m going to make 5 completely attainable goals. Five things that I’m certain to be able to check off my list, and then I can brag about being finished with. Anything else I do will be just frosting on my cupcake of life. In no particular order, my ultra-super-freakishly easy resolutions for 2010:

  1. I will make at least $10 in freelance writing in 2010.
  2. I will make 1 meal from scratch in 2010.
  3. I will have one happy, non-stressful, fun day with the kids in 2010.
  4. I will dance around the living room at least once in 2010.
  5. I will read 5 books in 2010.

Now the only way I could fail to meet these goals is to die or be put in a coma. So hopefully I haven’t just fated myself to a tragic car accident or kitchen appliance explosion. Hmmm, will 2010 be the year of paranoia and Googling life insurance rates every few days?

Whatever may come, 2010 is steamrolling right on in. And bringing my birthday with it. Ready, set, GO!!!!!!!!!

It has been fun to get excited about the New Year by reading other people thoughts and goals. Thanks for your post. It has given me the desire to focus on the importance of making fun goals! I loved your goal of one happy, non-stressful, fun day with the kids, and Dancing around the living room. I have found that using a goal setting worksheet has also been key to my success for New Year’s goals! Thanks again!
