Letting In The Light
If you watched the video in my Rock Your Baby post then you know what sorry shape my window blinds were in. It’s a bit pathetic really, no matter how often I try to replace the blinds the kids and cats manage to destroy them again in a few weeks.Last week we went and bought 8 new blinds to put up on the windows.Three for the living room, three for the dining room, and two for the boys’ room. Today they are already showing wear and tear.
The cats think it’s great fun to use the blinds as faux-scratching posts. Getting them real posts, lots of toys, and being declawed hasn’t seemed to have helped any. Then the boys get in on the action by bending them in half every time there is any noise outside. Not even metal blinds stand a chance, as evidenced by the metal blinds on the front door that have been tore to pieces at the bottom.
I’m a bit afraid to go to curtains instead. I see the boys playing Tarzan on them anytime I leave the room. Not a thrilling idea at all. So what do I do instead? Learn to deal until they are old enough to know better? Spray paint the windows black? I’m out of ideas here people.
