Little Black Bag
I have a purse fetish. I don’t have piles of shoes or a closet full of clothes. I don’t get my hair done or my nails buffed or even shave my legs. But I do have my purses.
I’m a tightwad when it comes to feeding my obsession as much as I am with everything else. My beautiful purple embroidered bag was a free gift, the black shoulder bag I’ve had for years, the blue one was a gift, the brown one I found at a garage sale for a quarter. A few I’ve sewn myself, some were hand me downs, others I bought at thrift shops.
So let me introduce my latest beauty. She cost me a full $2 at the consignment store, but woth every penny. She’s classic and elegant, nice enough for going out but plain enough for every day use. I’m in love. Sure Dearest rolled his eyes and sighed, but I couldn’t help myself. I did get a pair of pants ($1.75) and a couple shirts ($2.50) so I didn’t just splurge on the purse. Besides, if I’m going to have clothes that actually fit me I’ll need a nice new bag to carry too.
