Mesopotamian Lapbook
So we just finished studying Mesopotamia (using Mosiac) and I thought it would be fun to try our first lapbook. Evan and I plooked at a few examples and he thought it was beyond neat and couldn’t wait. Here’s what we did:
This is the front of it. I found that graphic online at MrDonn.org OK, now the inside
So, at the top we have a little sheet where Evan wrote a few things he remembered about Mesopotamia on it. On one side of that we put a small map and on the other a clipart image of a ziggurat. I wanted to put a little about the gods and goddesses under the ziggurat, but Evan was going into too-much-info mode so we skipped it.
Under the main writing we have an invention wheel, you can turn the green paper and see the various things invented by the Mesopotamians. Such as the wheel.
On the right we have a little fold out about their homes, just that they were made of mud bricks and had flat roofs.
And on the left Evan wrote a little booklet about Gilgamesh.
And there it is, our first lapbook. It was kind of fun actually, though I think the next one I’ll try to plan better. This was more of a fly by the seat of our pants type of idea.

Oooooooooo … you’re eating this up, aren’t you?
It just gets better every year, the more they grow and the more they want to do.
