Wow, that’s just horrifying. I am suddenly ever so much more grateful for my amazing midwives. And my very short labours. It’s so sad that women would be subjected to unnecessary surgery and made to feel inadequate when they really, just really, aren’t.

    Badass chick! Haha! Thanks!

I’ve never heard you talk before, that’s weird. Not that you sound weird, but ya know, you go years looking at people and reading their words but you never know what they actually sound like!

“And then you found out he was the one who caused the distress”…..

    Yeah. That was me.

    Ape-sh*t mad.

My midwife cranked my pit with my first but I only got a nasty episiotomy for the distress. Ugh.

Yea…it’s got me really…not feeling good about the thought of birthing in a hospital…

Wow – Yeah, this is why I wanted a home birth. I ended up in the hospital on my midwife’s recommendation with an epidural and pitocin, but my pit was loooow (don’t remember exact numbers), but this whole “pit to distress” is disgusting. They’re fucking with lives, you know (pardon my French)?? It infuriates me.

I’ve written a couple of papers about the state of maternal care and birth policies here in the States and it never ceases to amaze me how unnatural it’s become. It’s sad.

    Great rant. Keep ‘em coming.
