Saturday Night For A Pregnant Mom
It’s 8 PM, the kids are already asleep after a long day of playing outside, and I’m enjoying the still warm weather on the front porch. Why? Because I can, and because the crappy free signal picks up better out here. I could use a few accessories though, like some nice lawn chairs to sit in and some discount outdoor lighting to help me see better. Still, the fact that I’m in a thin t-shirt in early February more than makes up for anything else.
So this is the exciting Saturday night of a mom. Unlike my neighbors there are no wild parties for me to attend, no herd of friends sitting outside with me, not even a huge social gathering like Blissdom. Am I bored? Yes, yes I am. So bored in fact that despite only having gotten my new camera yesterday I have already worn the batteries down. And I can’t find where I put the rechargeable ones. Which leaves me slightly out of luck. I do, however, have several good photos waiting to be edited and shared next week. Like this one, and this one. And just to contrast exactly how big I am this one was taken last summer right before I got pregnant. That’s right, I used to be able to see my feet. Oh how long, long ago that seems.
I can’t believe that my Saturday night has been reduced to sitting on the porch, sipping tea, and blogging. I swear I used to have a life. Places to go, people to see, things to do. Of course I also used to have a waist and didn’t need help putting my shoes on in the morning. My how things change!

We are also big party animals. Sitting in the living room watching Apollo 13 with the windows open. Our fatty cat leaned too hard on the screen and fell right out the window.
Very exciting times.
