It was a beautiful day, though dark clouds kept rolling over threatening us. After lunch I put A in the sling and E hopped on his bike. We headed down to the park, the one with a little creek running along side it. Being a weekend day there were several other kids there all enjoying the weather.
We had fun playing in the water, getting muddy, chasing tadpoles and tiny fish, and trowing rocks. It was one big, wet, muddy, smelly science experient. We compared rocks as we tossed them, guessing how far they would fly and how big they would splash. We talked about tadpoles, and how they look so much like the tiny fish swimming along side them. We found plants growing free in the water. We even found a teeny tiny turtle. Around us the other kids ran and splashed, stopping to look what we found or showing us what they discovered.
