Shhhhhh
Trey turns 2 in two weeks and 1 day. Am I panicking? Well, yes I am. But at least I’ve got the gift covered, so that’s one less thing to freak me out.
He is madly in love with trains right now. I hear “choo-choo” at least a dozen times a day for every book, toy, and train covered blanket that he sees. And that’s a lot folks, a lot. So I knew that I had to get him something train related for his birthday. HAD TO.
Evan has this awesome wooden train set that my mother bought him when he was two. Unfortunately he rarely gets to play with it anymore because Trey is the master of destruction. The poor thing doesn’t stand a chance against my little bull in the china shop. So I thought that maybe if I got him his own train set it might give them something to play with and help him learn to be a little more gentle.
After some hunting and bargaining I found a small wooden train set. It’s just a basic oval with two small wooden trains. No big fancy bridges, hills, and little people like Evan has. But it’s a train with a track, and that’s about all that really matters to Trey.
Now all I have to do is keep it hidden until his birthday.

Love the new layout!
Not surprisingly, trains are a huge hit in our household. Spawnling is just beginning to realize that it’s more fun to run a train around the track than to destroy it. That means they’re coming out a little bit more often with fewer tears of frustration from the older ones.
Must go… Tears of frustration from the sick one playing Wii. Mario Kart is frustrating as well, apparently.
Seriously? TWO?
Hey, I haven’t called you back yet because it’s Vacation Bible School week – and I’m bringing home two extra kids with us every afternoon.
Yeah. Crazy!
Aww, what a cute pic! My nephew loves Thomas and has the tracks, buildings, people, all of that stuff. I think he shares and lets his brothers play with it, too.
I actually glued and screwed the track to the table, and my two year old still destroyed it.
I have a train obsessed 2 year old as well. The weird thing is that when ever I see a train I make a “toot toot” sound in my own head!
TRAINS! They have dominated our house for the past four years. Now that Jacob (almost 7) has graduated from Thomas, he is moving on to the “real” trains. He wants to be a train conductor, and he LOVES watching train DVDs. Thank goodness Netflix has a nice selection.
