The Labor Meme

fun

In honor of Labor Day Rocks In My Dryer has a labor meme up for anyone who wants to join in. I’m always up for a good meme, so count me into the fun.

How long were your labors?

Evan – 18 hours

Trey – 5 hours

How did you know you were in labor?

Evan – First contraction at midnight, it just felt different than the Braxton Hicks ones I had been having.Labor lasted the rest of the night and day.

Trey – I felt a sudden pain, stood up and my water broke. Went from 0 to 60 in no time flat.

Where did you deliver?

Evan – Birthing Center

Trey – Planned to at home, unfortunately ended up at hospital

Drugs?

No thanks.

C-section?

Thankfully no.

Who delivered?

Well I did, duh! But if you mean who caught…

My midwife caught Evan, while Dearest got to sit with me in the bed. All birthing bed should be queen sized, I’m just saying

Trey was caught by one of the rudest doctors I have ever met. Seriously, not only no bedside manner but damn near spiteful.

Just think, next year I get to do this for 3. Crossing fingers for a finally successful home birth. Where ever home may be at that time.

There’s nothing in the world like having your baby in the comfort of your own home. I had all five of mine at home with no drugs. Each one was an extraordinarily special time. I hope you get your wish, too! :)

I have a friend who delivered at home. Very interesting. I’m glad to hear your stories as well. I am due in less than 4 weeks, so I’ve enjoyed (mostly) reading the stories of everyone from RIMD. Thanks for sharing!!
