The Queen Of Spain Is Starting It Right
It’s almost 2009, another year gone and a new year to do all thing things I wanted to do and didn’t. Like finally meet some of these blogging queens I read everyday online. Especially, you know, The Queen.
Erin, Queen of Spain, is giving away a full registration to BlogHer in Chicago to start her New year off right. How else is drooling at the chance to actually go to the infamous BlogHer? I know I’m not the only one. Last year I had hoped to go but funds just didn’t work out, so the plan was set off to ‘09. Unfortunately with the unexpected pregnancy, sudden move, and Dearest’s job loss funds for BlogHer 09 were depleted too. I’ve pretty much written off any chance at going this year, money is tight and there’s no way I could justify dropping a couple hundred dollars like that. Not even if it would be a much, much needed mini-vacation.
Erin wants to know why you want to go to Blogher and what you’re going to do in 2009 to support other women. Write a blog post answering her questions and link back to her post, then hit her with a comment letting her know you joined.
The first question is pretty obvious. Why go to BlogHer? Duh, because it’s BLOGHER! A chance to meet all those amazing women bloggers face to face, to get a chance to make a real connection with someone living thousands of miles away that you’ve only ever chatted with online, to be a part of one of the biggest blogging events of the year. And if that weren’t enough the entire conference is packed with knowledge and wisdom. Just look at the agenda, it makes my inner blogging geek want to squeal.
OK, so now you’ve just got to figure out how you’re going to support women in 2009. And I mean really support women. Work to promote breastfeeding and support breastfeeding moms, donate to local food banks and shelters that benefit women in your community, or keep a few politicians numbers on speed dial when you need to let someone with power know exactly what they could be doing better. And feel free to steal my ideas here, the more the better.
